Before Your Shoot
1. Do I need to know how to pose?
No. You don’t need any modelling experience — and you don’t need to know what to do in front of a camera.
We’ll direct you throughout the shoot, from where to stand and how to position yourself to what to do with your hands and where to look. The aim is to make the photos feel natural rather than posed.
2. What should I bring to the shoot?
For most sessions, we’d recommend bringing a few different outfits rather than just one.
Think about what you would actually wear on a date, to work, for drinks with friends or at the weekend. Different outfits give us more variety and help create a profile that feels like a genuine representation of you.
We’ll also advise you beforehand on what will work best.
3. Can you help me choose what to wear?
Absolutely.
If you’re unsure what to bring, we’ll give you guidance before the shoot. We can help you decide which colours, styles and combinations are likely to photograph best and give you the variety you need.
4. What happens if I arrive and don’t feel comfortable in what I’m wearing?
Don’t worry.
We can work around it. If you’ve brought other options, we’ll help you choose between them. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and like yourself.
A great photograph shouldn’t feel like you’re wearing a costume.
5. Can I have photos taken with glasses, facial hair, tattoos or other features I normally have?
Of course.
The aim isn’t to change who you are. We want your photos to look like you — just on a very good day.
We’ll work with your existing style and appearance rather than trying to turn you into somebody else.
During The Shoot
6. Will the photos look too “professional” for a dating app?
No — that’s not what we’re trying to create.
Dating photos should feel natural, relaxed and believable. We use professional photography techniques to make you look your best, but the finished images should still look like someone you’d actually meet in real life.
7. Do I have to smile in every photo?
Definitely not.
We’ll create a mixture of expressions and situations so your final selection doesn’t look repetitive. Some photos might be smiling and approachable, while others might be more relaxed, confident or candid.
8. Will you take photos that don’t look like I’m posing?
Yes.
This is a big part of what we do.
We’ll use movement, conversation, different locations and natural interactions to create photographs that feel spontaneous rather than staged.
9. How many locations will we use?
That depends on the package you choose and what we’re trying to achieve.
Where appropriate, we’ll use different backgrounds and environments to create variety in your final selection. We’ll plan the route in advance so we can make the most of the session without wasting time travelling between locations.
10. Can you take photos specifically for Hinge, Bumble or Tinder?
Yes.
We’ll create a selection that works across dating platforms, taking into account the different types of images that make a strong dating profile.
The goal isn’t simply to give you a collection of nice portraits — it’s to give you photographs that actually work together as a profile.
Choosing Your Photos
11. Do I choose which photos I want?
Yes.
After your shoot, you’ll receive access to your private gallery where you can review the photographs and select your favourites.
We’ll explain the process before the shoot so you know exactly what to expect.
12. How many final edited photos do I receive?
This depends on the package you choose.
Your package will specify the number of professionally edited and retouched images included. Additional images may also be available if you’d like a larger selection.
13. Will you help me decide which photos are best?
Yes.
Choosing your photos can be surprisingly difficult — especially when you’re looking at photographs of yourself.
We can help you identify the strongest images and, where appropriate, advise on which photograph should work best as your main dating profile image and how the different photos work together.
14. Can I buy additional photos after the shoot?
If you’d like more images than are included in your package, just ask us.
We’ll let you know what additional options are available.
Editing & Retouching
15. Will my photos be retouched?
Yes, depending on the package you’ve chosen.
Our approach to retouching is subtle and realistic. We’ll improve things such as lighting, colour and minor distractions while keeping you looking like yourself.
We don’t want you to look like a completely different person.
16. Can you remove things like spots or temporary blemishes?
Yes.
Temporary distractions can be cleaned up during retouching. The goal is to create a polished photograph without making the image look obviously edited.
17. Will I receive high-resolution versions of my photos?
Your final images are supplied in a format suitable for online use.
If you have a specific requirement — such as printing, LinkedIn or a particular dating platform — let us know and we’ll advise you on the most appropriate version.
After Your Shoot
18. How quickly will I receive my photos?
Your turnaround time depends on the package you’ve booked.
We’ll give you the expected timeframe when you book so you know when to expect your gallery and final edited photographs.
If you have a particular deadline, tell us before booking and we’ll let you know what we can do.
19. Can I use my photos on more than one dating app?
Yes.
Your photographs can be used across your dating profiles and online presence.
In fact, we recommend using a selection of images rather than simply uploading the same photograph everywhere.
20. Can I use the photos for LinkedIn as well?
Yes, provided the images are suitable for that purpose.
If you’re looking for both dating and professional photographs, we’d recommend telling us before your shoot so we can plan the session accordingly.
21. Can you help me improve my existing dating profile?
Yes.
Your photographs are only one part of a successful dating profile. We can advise you on how to use your new images effectively and how the photographs work together as a complete profile.
Booking
22. What happens after I enquire?
We’ll discuss what you’re looking for, recommend the most appropriate package and answer any questions you have.
Once you’ve chosen your session, we’ll arrange a date and give you everything you need to prepare.
23. What happens if I need to reschedule?
Just let us know as soon as possible.
We’ll do our best to find another suitable date. Our full cancellation and rescheduling terms will be provided when you book.
24. What happens if it rains on the day?
Don’t panic.
If your shoot relies on outdoor locations and the weather makes the session unsuitable, we’ll discuss the best option with you — whether that’s changing the plan, using alternative locations or rescheduling.
25. Can I bring a friend?
Yes.
If having someone you trust nearby helps you feel more comfortable, you’re welcome to bring them along.
We’d simply ask that they don’t become your unofficial creative director!
26. Where do you shoot?
We use locations that suit the style of photographs we’re creating and the package you’ve booked.
We’ll discuss suitable locations with you before the session and can recommend options based on your personality, wardrobe and the type of profile you’re creating.
27. Do you only photograph men?
Wolf & Blue specialises in creating natural, confident portraits for people looking to improve how they present themselves online.

28. I’m really nervous. Is this actually going to work for me?
That’s probably one of the most common things we hear.
You don’t need to be confident in front of a camera when you arrive. That’s our job.
We’ll guide you through the session, keep things relaxed and give you clear direction throughout. Most people find that after the first few minutes, the experience becomes much easier than they expected.
You don’t need to know how to be photographed. You just need to show up. We’ll take it from there.
